Lamorne Morris may just be the luck, luck, luckiest actor in Hollywood.
When the studios were casting for pilots last spring, he was not among the actors chosen for Fox’s “New Girl,” starring Zooey Deschanel. Then a funny thing happened to one of the guys who was, Damon Wayans, Jr. His other show, “Happy Endings,” got picked up for a full season over on ABC after an abbreviated spring run.

Lucky Damon. “Happy Endings” became a certifiable success this fall.
But even luck, luck, luckier Lamorne Morris, who stepped in as the third male roommate sharing quarters with adorable nerd Zooey Deschanel. Because “New Girl” is the biggest breakout comedy of the season and it only gets better week to week.
(You’d know that if you had seen the difference from episode one, which introduced the situation to this comedy, and the Thanksgiving episode, which smoked it out of one apartment and into the next one. Poor dead neighbor. But I digress.)
Anyway, Morris, whose previous credits include a run with the Upright Citizens Brigade, has a good story to tell.
At least I hope he does.
