I can’t quite figure out this fellow J.D. Malone.
He seems like a talented enough guy, but why did he need to surround himself with all manner of experts?
I mean, what are these guys experts at, besides their musical instruments? Does one of them know First Aid in case J.D. falls off a stage? Is someone else an expert at getting skin-flint concert promoters to pay up after a show? Which one has The Mentalist’s skills are reading girls in the audience and having his way with them?

Now that I think about it, I’m actually surprised no lead singer of a band every thought about building an act this way before.
Based on my own expert analysis of J.D. Malone’s situation, I’d say this was downright genius!

They’ve got a mature sound that is at once familiar and uniquely theirs – think John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Bob Seger – guys like that.
