I have to admit I was a little surprised when I read up on actor Jimmy Hawkins’ life since he played Donna Reed and Jimmy Stewart’s son, Tommy Bailey, in the holiday film classic, It’s A Wonderful Life.
For example, did you know he later worked with Reed again as Shelley Fabares’ boyfriend on eight seasons of TV’s “The Donna Reed Show”?

One of my first guests on Mr. Media when it was a syndicated weekly newspaper column in 1996 was actress Karolyn Grimes, who played Hawkins’ sister, Zuzu, in It’s A Wonderful Life. And I’m delighted to bookend the movie siblings here on our show.
