Jim Lemke, the author of Resumes For Dummies, has earned a reputation as a leader in talent strategies and processes. He is director of organizational development for Opportunity International. Previously, Jim spent 15 years as a human resources consultant. His client list included: Real Networks, Southern California Metropolitan Water District, Northrop Grumman, Southwest Airlines, Jet Propoulson Laboratory, United Arab Emirates University, and the White House. Jim has held executive positions with Wachovia Bank, TRW, UCLA, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Raytheon.
JIM LEMKE podcast excerpt: “When I worked for Disney, most people did their homework (in preparation for a job interview). We were looking for screenwriters. One person said, ‘I don’t think you understand. I really, really want this job.’ A week later, I received a made-up ransom note with a cut-off Mickey Mouse ear attached to it. The note said, ‘We need to talk or you won’t see the mouse again.’ I hired him; very creative. But this wouldn’t have worked at TRW”
