<When I tell you that Steve Morse was the “long-time” rock critic for the Boston Globe, I’m not kidding—I actually looked it up.
I seemed to recall him being on the job during the years that I flitted in and of similar positions at the St. Petersburg Times and Tampa Tribune during the mid-1980s and many a freelance assignment before that.
Could it really be the same Steve Morse?

Indeed it is. Morse was on the staff at the Globe from 1975 all the way through 2005. He still freelances for the paper on occasion, as well as for other outlets.
