Today’s Guest: America Olivo, actor, “Chicago P.D.,” “Defiance,” “DeGrassi: The Next Generation”
Mr. Media is recorded live before a studio audience of shirtless, Levi Johnston wannabes… in the new new media capitol of the world… St. Petersburg, Florida!
If you’re enjoying Mr. Media on video, you already know that the camera loves America Olivo. For those of you listening to the radio version of the show, open a new window on your browser and search “America Olivo” on Google and “Images.”
Go ahead, you know you want to. We’ll wait.
Just kidding. Catch up to us when you can, pal.
America is one beautiful woman. Playboy readers will recognize her as the magazine’s June 2009 cover girl in a delightfully ripped white t-shirt alongside the apt headline, “America the Beautiful.”
AMERICA OLIVO podcast excerpt: “It’s a really good story. They’ve been working on this a long time, keeping true to the mythology of Peter Parker and Spider-Man and adding new elements. It’s got the heart of the story that is Spider-Man — and then some. And the music — Bono and The Edge — is amazing.”
She did that photo shoot to promote her movie, Bitch Slap. And just so you understand how things work, she’s doing Mr. Media to promote her new movie, Circle. Cool, huh?
As anxious as she is to have you see her current work in Circle, I expect America is pretty excited to tell us what she can about her latest gig: she was just cast in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, featuring songs written by Bono of U2. America is the understudy in the role of “Arachne.” (P.S. — Her husband, Christian Campbell, is an actor on HBO’s “The Big Love.”)
