Jordan Brady has been on stage, told the jokes, suffered the hecklers and luxuriated in the belly laughs.

He also knows the pitfalls of standup comedy and comedians. So who better to chronicle their lives than one of their own?

I just finished watching I Am Comic, Brady’s funny, fast-moving tribute to the men and women who make their living analyzing their lives, picking at their own zits on stage, humiliating you, me and that fat, obnoxious idiot who made the mistake of sitting in the front row.

Brady began as a stand-up comedian in the early 1980’s. His first feature film, Dill Scallion, world premiered at the 1999 Slamdance Film Festival. He went on to direct three more feature comedies, including Waking Up In Reno with Billy Bob Thornton, Charlize Theron, Patrick Swayze and Natasha Richardson. JORDAN BRADY podcast excerpt: “What comes across in the movie is that standup comedians are addicted to the palpable laugh they hear from the audience, the connection they get, and some, the connection. I realized I had to do a documentary on this type of psyche.”
