Hayley McFarland, LIE TO ME, UNITED STATES OF TARA actress: Mr. Media Radio Interview

By BOB ANDELMAN

Something was seriously missing from the second episode of the second season of Fox’s drama Lie To Me: punishment for Hayley McFarland’s character, Emily Lightman.

Hayley, who plays a young high school student named Emily on the show, lied to her father—Dr. Cal Lightman, played by Tim Roth—about some pretty serious stuff after a classmate of hers was apparently raped at a college frat house party by a star athlete.

If that happened in my house, my teen would be grounded—probably for life.
AUDIO EXCERPT: "I saw Pulp Fiction before I started on Lie To Me. I was kind of nervous going to meet (Tim Roth). I thought he'd be mean. But he's great."
But Hayley has probably behaved worse on TV; after all, Lie To Me is just one of this young actress’s recurring gigs; she’s also on Showtime’s United States of Tara, starring Toni Collette. On Tara, Hayley plays the best friend of Tara’s son.

Kelli Williams, "Lie To Me"

Kelli Williams is the star of the new Fox drama, “Dollhouse.”

Okay, that’s a lie.

Kelli Williams is the star of the new Fox drama, “Lie To Me,” which co-stars Chef Gordon Ramsay.

Okay, okay, that’s another lie. My upper lip quivered when I said it, my eyes are blinking more rapidly and my blood pressure is racing.

But that’s not because I lied; it’s because Kelli Williams—a husband and three kids after rising to prominence as a star of “The Practice”—is just as lust-inducing as ever and she’s about to join us.

Monica Raymund, "LIE TO ME" Fox TV co-star: Mr. Media Interview

Bookmark and Share

You probably don’t know this, but Mr. Media’s adopted hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida is pretty good at turning out dramatic talent.

There is Angela Bassett, of course, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her work in What’s Love Got to Do with It” and is currently starring on the NBC series “ER.”

And then there is Patrick Wilson, who has been nominated for Tony awards, Golden Globes and Emmys and stars in the upcoming film, Watchmen.

Monica Raymund is the latest to emerge from this sunny city on Tampa Bay. A graduate of Shorecrest Preparatory School—like Wilson—and the daughter of two of the community’s best known and most philanthropic residents, Steve and Sonia Raymund, Monica exploded on the national scene a few weeks ago on the new Fox TV series, “Lie To Me.”

For once, it might be fair to say that Monica is an overnight sensation: before “Lie To Me,” her best known credit was an episode of “Law & Order: SVU.” In fact, her IMDB listing only has one other credit!

“Lie To Me” stars Tim Roth — best known for the opening and closing scenes of Pulp Fiction — and Kelli Williams, a star of "The Practice..

In “Lie To Me,” Raymund is a gifted natural interpreter of non-verbal cues. Her character, Ria Torres, is the newest member of the agency, and one of the few "naturals" in the field of deception detection. She has a raw, untrained ability to read people that makes her a force to be reckoned with.

The show returns on Wednesday, March 4th at 9 PM and then moves to 8 PM starting March 11th.
