Bookmark and Share
Not to put too much pressure on her, but Michele Balan is a standup comedian from New York, where every city block is bursting with comic setups and teardowns. So she’s gotta be funny, right?

Balan first came to national attention on the comedy reality series “Last Comic Standing.” This summer she is appearing in STAND-UP 360, a series of seven original, feature-length stand-up comedy films that began appearing in cinemas nationwide the week of May 4th, with a new film rolling out every 2 weeks. (Balan's appearance is in the installment debuting on Friday, May 15.)

Hosted by Caroline Rhea, each of the films offers a different lineup of comedians performing live stand-up, complete with backstage glimpses. A sample of comics in the film series includes Judy Gold, Godfrey, Roz G, Erik Rivera, Wali Collins, Jackie Hoffman, and Michele Balan.

Kathy Griffin: I Shot the Sheriff

Bookmark and Share
"He didn't laugh at anything I said."

-- Comedienne Kathy Griffin on her meeting with Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, as chronicled in the New York Observer. Griffin wanted to perform at the openly gay division of the LA jail and broadcast it on her reality show, "My Life on the D-List." Griffin probably didn't help her case by showing up for her appointment with an uninvited video crew.
