Kathy Ireland, DANCING WITH THE STARS contestant, supermodel: Mr. Media Radio Interview

By BOB ANDELMAN

Kathy Ireland is among the biggest names joining the cast of “Dancing With The Stars” this season, which kicks off on Monday, September 21st at 8 p.m.

Frankly, I don’t know whether she can dance or not, but I think she’s on the wrong ABC show.
AUDIO EXCERPT: "I've had two knee surgeries, a foot surgery, I never walked in high heels, never did runway. I get dizzy when I spin. And I'm adventurous--and clumsy--and it's not always a good combination."
Seeing how great Kathy looks—and I mean super-duper, CEO supermodel hot—I’m thinking the 46-year-old belongs on the new comedy “Cougar Town” with Courtney Cox rather than sharing a stage with the likes of Tom Delay.

But that’s just my opinion.

Frankly, we’re lucky she’s even here today, having gashed her leg and requiring seven stitches just a few days ago—and not dancing but surfing! Should make for a good story.

Ali Landry, David Charvet, THE SUPERSTARS celebrity contestants: Mr. Media Radio Interview

Bookmark and Share
My best friend Bruce Kessler and I would be glued to ABC’s “Wide World of Sports” during the 1970s when it aired its ‘Superstars” competitions, pitting athletes and celebrities against one another in sports which no one had a natural advantage or, usually, much experience.

Now ABC has once more brought back that old chestnut in a new primetime seasons of “The Superstars,” airs on Tuesday through July at 8 p.m. on ABC. This time around, we get male/female, celebrity/athlete teams including Terrell Owens and Joanna Krupa, Robert Horry and Estella Warren, Lisa Leslie and Dan Cortese, Brandi Chastain and Julio Iglesias Jr. and others.

Joining me today are two superstars who are not teamed together, Baywatch and Melrose Place star David Charvet and actress and former Miss USA Ali Landry.

Joey Lawrence, MY FAKE FIANCE, DANCING WITH THE STARS actor, dancer: Mr. Media Audio Interview

You’ve gotta give Joey Lawrence credit. He survived being a child and teen TV star, hanging out with Nell Carter for 77 episodes of “Gimmee a Break” and “Blossom”—Mayim Bialik— for 114 weekly shows.

After that he spent some time establishing himself as a serious actor, even asking to be known as Joseph Lawrence for a time.

But when he took the unlikely plunge as a contestant on the third season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” Lawrence made his presence felt in the land of grown-ups—he did a three-episode stint on “CSI:NY”—and I suspect its been smooth sailing ever since.

Lawrence and Melissa Joan Hart are currently starring in a new movie on ABC Family, “My Fake Fiance.”

Rocco DeSpirito, Still Dancing (Minus Judges)

Freshly eliminated from ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," Rocco DiSpirito ("The Restaurant") was in good spirits this past weekend at the NYC Food & Wine Festival on Saturday. Not without talent, Dispirito showed off his moves, twirling and dipping the Evian models. (Photo by Soul Brother)
