Ali Landry, David Charvet, THE SUPERSTARS celebrity contestants: Mr. Media Radio Interview

Bookmark and Share
My best friend Bruce Kessler and I would be glued to ABC’s “Wide World of Sports” during the 1970s when it aired its ‘Superstars” competitions, pitting athletes and celebrities against one another in sports which no one had a natural advantage or, usually, much experience.

Now ABC has once more brought back that old chestnut in a new primetime seasons of “The Superstars,” airs on Tuesday through July at 8 p.m. on ABC. This time around, we get male/female, celebrity/athlete teams including Terrell Owens and Joanna Krupa, Robert Horry and Estella Warren, Lisa Leslie and Dan Cortese, Brandi Chastain and Julio Iglesias Jr. and others.

Joining me today are two superstars who are not teamed together, Baywatch and Melrose Place star David Charvet and actress and former Miss USA Ali Landry.

Will Packer, OBSESSED film director (Beyonce): Mr. Media Audio Interview

Beyonce Knowles and Ali Larter star in producer Will Packer’s new movie, Obsessed. I don’t know about you, but after learning those two are in it, I don’t really need to hear much more to know I’m going to see it.

But if I’m in the minority, let me say that from the trailer, it looks like a Fatal Attraction-type thriller, with Larter—one of the stars of NBC’s “Heroes”—as a Glenn Close-style intruder upon Beyonce’s once quiet marriage.

Joining me to talk about the movie is Will Packer, who brings more credibility to this show’s claim that St. Petersburg is the new media capital of the world: this is his hometown. I’m told he even received a key to the city that proves it.

"Why can't girls kick some ass?"

-- Actress Ali Larter, star of NBC's hit freshman superhero drama "Heroes," quoted in the March 2007 issue of Starlog magazine. The next butt she'll try kicking is Keifer Sutherland's, when his show "24" returns to its regular Monday slot on Fox - opposite "Heroes."
